My First Half Marathon

I have high respect for people who do the full marathon for Sundown so I have decided to join this prestigious marathon this year. I am so blessed to be able to finish my first half marathon (21 kilometers) and thanks to my supporters who stayed with  me and waited for more than 3 hours while I was trying to finish the race. the race started late at 12:30 midnight.

the race wasn't as difficult as i have expected. oh, don't get me wrong, am not trying to brag here. in fact, i took the race slower than my usual one cuz i was really scared not to finish it. my game plan is not to race it, but to finish it. ha! a very helpful tip from a friend who ran for 42 km told me to take it by kilometer and not to count backwards. it actually saved me to make it as easier as i have assumed. of course, i've been praying the whole race. this is what i love about running. this is my "me, myself, and i" intimate time and it's a very good chance to be able to talk to God. i usually reflect on life and pray at the same time while running. i've been praying to Jesus to run beside me at that time and He did! He saved me from any scary accident and even blisters. no battle scars in fact, thank God. :)

it took me 3 energy gels to finish the race. i didn't hydrate myself very often. my first water was when i had my first gel at around 12km. i ran straight until 16km, when i felt the pain on my right tummy. this is an indication that am running out of air. i tried the walk-run-walk routine to finish the last 5km. around 16km, it started to rain. my initial reaction when i felt the drizzle was "thank you Lord" cuz it was really humid at that time. then i started to get scared because of the phone inside my belt bag. it's a good thing i brought a ziplock with me. that's a must by the way! the thunder along the way was really scary too but it didn't stop me to go forward and finish it. at 18km, i felt the pain in my right leg and cramps everytime i tried running so i was trying to put the weight on my left leg while dragging my right. the songs am listening to helped my spirit to strive hard and to continue running with a smile and to forget the pain i was feeling. so yes, i have successfully finished the race after 3 hours and 8 minutes. it was awesome!

thank God for letting me experience this and i felt like He was encouraging me to finish each kilometer with a smile and enthusiasm and that the journey I was taking is a blessing and not a sacrifice. This made the whole race not as difficult as I have expected. thank you to those people who was there for me during the race, it's like you were running with me while cheering for me to finish it. am so blessed to have you all in my life. this run is for papa, and for those people who love me. love you all to bits too!

until my next 21 km - standard chartered singapore run this december.

7th Heaven

exactly 7 years ago, on a mother's day, i had the biggest trial of my life when my super hero died, my mother. ironically, i can say, i am rejoicing today cuz for 7 years, i have stood still and moved on living my life without my hero. that trial made me stronger and proved big time that i will never EVER be alone in my life. that trial was the biggest execution of God's providence and miracles in disguise. God gave me the best mother and i am thankful to Him and happy that she's with Him. i miss you mama and i love you. :)

Whole Wide World

i have always been a big fan of red lipstick and it’s my fave shade cuz it compliments my full lips. It has done a great job of cheering me up everytime am down and for making me feel beautiful. :) I ♥ how Michelle Phan showcased the different types of red lipstick on her lips for International Women’s Day. I just love being a woman!

.. and I could say, i can rock red lips. ♥♥♥

.. and oh yeah, two thumbs up for Michelle Phan for using this song on her red lipstick vid.

this awesome vid reminds me of how it feels good to be a woman and to do the things we love, even those things that we are not expected to be doing. This is a good motivation for my first half marathon this May for the Sundown Marathon. Am claiming that I can finish the race. r and j, let's do this! I know we can. ♥♥♥

odile , the black swan 2011

celebrating one of my favorite holidays of the year for the 3rd time here in SG . there ' s something about halloween that keeps me excited and that is by giving me a license to dress up in the silliest way . in short , i can be myself without any persecution from other people . ha ! this year , i dressed up as odile , the black swan . this is the first time that we decided to celebrate it outside by going clubbing . ohwell , besides being treated as a mascot by people asking to take your pic , i enjoyed people-costume-watching too . clarke quay celebrated halloween this year big style by treating people in costumes for some freebies . i got a free jagermeister from pump room for dressing up . weeeee, delight ! happy halloween everybody !
